This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and share personal information when you visit our website or interact with our forms and services.

Information we collect

We collect the following personal information directly from you, through the forms on the Site:

Contact form (/contacto and the contact section on the home page) — used to answer enquiries:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Message

Newsletter form (subscription pop-up) — used to send you news and the promotional discount:

  • Email address

Meeting scheduling — when you book a meeting through our external calendar provider:

  • Name and email address
  • The date and time you select
  • Any detail you add in the notes field

Contact via WhatsApp — if you write to us through that channel, we receive your phone number, your profile name and the content of the messages you send us.

Data collected automatically

When you browse the Site, the following data may be collected automatically, depending on which analytics and advertising tools are active at the time:

  • Pages visited
  • Device and browser information
  • Approximate location (city level)
  • Traffic source
  • Ad clicks and conversions
  • Identifiers used for advertising targeting, including hashed identifiers
  • Session interactions (clicks and scrolling)
  • IP address

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Answer the enquiries sent through the contact form
  • Send you the newsletter and the promotions you subscribed to, if you gave us your email address
  • Manage meetings booked through our calendar provider
  • Prepare quotes and project proposals
  • Operate, maintain and improve the performance and usability of the Site using analytics tools
  • Run and measure the performance of our advertising campaigns

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Nor do we use it to make automated decisions that produce legal effects concerning you.

Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies through the third-party services listed below, for analytics, advertising and site functionality. These technologies may collect information such as pages visited, device and browser data, approximate location and identifiers used for advertising targeting.

Targeted advertising and your right to opt out

Once they are active, we will use Google Ads / DoubleClick and Meta Pixel to run ads and measure their performance. These tools collect data such as pages visited, ad clicks and conversions, actions taken on the Site, and identifiers used for targeting.

You can disable targeted advertising at any time using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link, available in the site footer and in the cookie banner. That link stores a first-party opt-out cookie and disables the advertising pixels in this browser, including on later visits.

Your rights

Under Costa Rica's Ley 8968 de Protección de la Persona frente al tratamiento de sus datos personales (Law 8968 on the Protection of the Individual with regard to the Processing of Personal Data), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you and know how it has been used and shared
  • Request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Request the deletion of your personal data
  • Withdraw consent you previously gave
  • Object to your data being used for advertising purposes

If you live in California (USA), the CCPA/CPRA additionally gives you the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. If you live in the European Union, the GDPR grants you equivalent rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection.

To exercise any of these rights, write to us at contacto@vipertechcr.com. We will respond to verifiable requests within the timeframes set by the applicable legislation.

Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this Policy:

  • Enquiries sent through the form are kept for as long as they are needed to answer and resolve your request, and for up to two years afterwards for commercial record-keeping
  • Newsletter subscriber emails are kept until you ask to unsubscribe
  • Information on contracted projects is kept for the period required by Costa Rican accounting and tax regulations
  • Scheduling data remains with our calendar provider under their own retention policies

Children's privacy

Our Site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children of that age. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, write to us so we can delete it.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal and operational reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. We recommend reviewing it periodically.
